A friend of mine paid upwards of $200 to see the innaugural Grand Prix of San Jose. While I am certainly happy that he has an interest that doesn't involve Xena or Hercules.. I cannot understand what the sport is even about. The one thing that was very clear: IT WAS LOUD. I live a good 3 miles away, and out my window, I could hear the cars revving and screeching around the track. This is unnecessary. I was also terribly frightened that a car would lose control and smack into one of our beautiful buildings.. I mean I drive like a maniac at like 45 miles an hour.. Can you imagine what kind of damage can be done at 150+? I understand that they had to go around the track 100 times.. This brings up an interesting idea.. Sometimes when I drive, I get into a funk and after a minute or two revive myself and wonder how I got where I am.. I seem to day-dream drive.. Do these drivers do it too? Something for Mr Taylor Woodrow to think about next time.. The beautiful PG&E building might be in danger!!
